Growing Cut Flowers at Home: An On Farm Workshop at Blue Sky Flower Farm

$125.00

Join us, Saturday June 20th, at Blue Sky Flower Farm for a relaxed and inspiring on-farm workshop all about growing beautiful flowers for cutting.

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll walk through the flower fields and learn how we grow and harvest seasonal flowers right here on the farm. We’ll focus on some of our favorite cut flower varieties and talk through what makes certain flowers better for bouquets, how to harvest them at the right stage, and simple techniques that help flowers last longer in the vase.

This workshop is perfect for home gardeners, flower lovers, and anyone curious about growing their own bouquets.

During the workshop we’ll cover:

• Our favorite cut flower varieties for home gardens
• What makes a flower a great cut flower
• How to harvest flowers for the longest vase life
• Harvest timing and flower stages
• Post-harvest flower care

Each guest will also enjoy a guided pick-your-own experience and leave with a signature hand-wrapped Blue Sky bouquet.

About Blue Sky Flower Farm

Blue Sky Flower Farm is a working flower farm nestled between Lakeville and Elko–New Market, Minnesota. We grow seasonal flowers that are available through our Farmstand, Spring, Summer, and Autumn Bouquet Shares (CSA), and select local retail partners.

Because this is both a working farm and our home, we are not regularly open to the public. Throughout the season we host select workshops, farm events, and flower experiences. Be sure to follow along on our website and social media for flower availability and upcoming events.

The Fine Print (aka The Fun Stuff)

A few quick things to know before joining us on the farm:

• Tickets are non-refundable. Space is limited and workshops are kept intentionally small.
• This is a real working farm, which means there may be tractors, animals, mud, fresh air, and the occasional farm smell or unexpected noise. It’s all part of the charm.
• Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the outdoors.
• We are a chemical-free farm, which means we do not use insecticides. The flowers love it… and sometimes the bugs do too. You may want to bring bug spray just in case.
• While we love animals, please leave pets at home for this event.

Thanks for helping us keep the farm safe, fun, and beautiful for everyone.
